Biography:
I was born in Birmingham, Alabama on September 1, 1986. At the age of five I was talking to my twin brother, Tommy, who had recently made a profession of faith, and felt that since Tommy had made this decision, I should follow his lead and make the same decision. Not long after, my parents felt the call of God upon their lives, and moved to Shelby, North Carolina, so that my father could attend Ambassadors Baptist College (ABC), and also serve as the chef there.
Through the years, I heard great preaching from men of God all across the country, and struggled with the assurance of my salvation, realizing that I was trusting in my brother’s decision, and not my own. At the age of eleven, Tommy came under conviction that he was not truly saved and accepted the Lord as his Savior. This event shook me to my foundation, realizing that my faith was in my brother’s decision, who just received Christ himself. Although I did not receive Christ at that time the Spirit of God was working in my heart.
My decision to “not receive Christ” as my brother had done, hardened me somewhat as I entered high-school. I had my own dreams and ambitions, and serving God was not one of them. While I moved closer and closer to graduation, I wondered what I would do with my life. My parents informed me that I was required to go to Bible College for at least one year.
After graduation, I attended ABC. After my freshman year, I felt I should go back to college for another year, fearing I might disappoint my parents. At the beginning of my sophomore year, I accepted Christ as my Savior, after an opening chapel message entitled, “How you can Know for Sure you’re on your way to Heaven”.
During my Junior year, I met my wife Autumn. Upon graduation, I started teaching at Emmanuel Baptist Academy in Valparaiso Indiana, as well as helping in the Bus Ministry, Music Ministry, and Youth Group. While serving, God opened my eyes to the call He had placed upon my life as a preacher. My wife and I were married on May 9, 2009. In the summer of 2010 the Lord allowed me to become part of the pastoral staff at Emmanuel, where I became the Bus Director, Bus Captain, Sunday School Teacher, Athletics Director and Janitor. On September 23 , 2010, the Lord blessed us with Riley Ann.
The Lord led us to Lighthouse Baptist Church in the spring of 2011. We were able to move here Memorial Day weekend, and are looking forward to great things He will do! It is my hope that you will prayerfully consider visiting us here at LBC. May the Lord bless you richly.
